Six Nevada-based startups are vying for a $200,000 AngelNV investment this Saturday afternoon at City Hall in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Run by StartUpNV, a nonprofit incubator and accelerator for Nevada-based startups, AngelNV will hold its Shark Tank-style grand finale this Saturday, April 30 at 1 p.m. at City Hall in Las Vegas where six startups present to secure an investment totaling at least $200,000.

The event will feature Las Vegas City Councilwoman Olivia Diaz for the keynote address and Michael Brown, Executive Director of the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development, who will join StartUpNV Executive Director Jeff Saling for present the investment to the winning company.

The six finalists were selected from more than 250 attendees of AngelNV’s free entrepreneur bootcamp sessions that teach startup founders how to raise venture capital. The $200,000 investment will come from angel investors who have invested at least $5,000 and participated in AngelNV’s investor bootcamp which teaches angel investing strategies and tactics.

Currently, nearly 75 new and experienced investors from the AngelNV investor group have pledged to invest at least $200,000 in a company. By the April 30 event, even more investment funds may be available and awarded to one or more of the six finalists. Last year, 52 investors awarded $220,000 to one finalist company and $55,000 to two finalists.

Five of the finalist startups are from southern Nevada and one is owned by a woman. The six finalist startups and their service or product offerings are:

1. AcuStitch has created a particularly useful suturing tool for incisions over 10 cm in length. The tool uses a variety of needle sizes and suture widths. It offers programmable stitch patterns and can perform surface, subcutaneous, and subcutaneous suturing.

2. Carrot has developed a comprehensive point of sale and customer experience system for retail dispensaries. It integrates inventory, ordering, delivery, and rewards programs into one easy-to-use application for vendors and customers.

3. SeeID has created a real-time asset tracking system that detects and tracks the location of objects indoors or in a confined area outdoors via a mesh network that uses state-of-the-art technology that requires less time. infrastructure to deploy, costs less and requires no power source or batteries.

4. SemiExact makes furniture kits and table legs for the DIY designer. They have bed frames, shelves, live wood, table legs, and outdoor furniture in a variety of finishes.

5. Surgistream is a software application that solves the planning of surgeons, operating rooms, support staff and devices needed for a surgery.

6. Terbine collects data from Internet of Things devices and aggregates the data into usable information for planning, including the creation of digital twins of cities.
