Engineering consultant Terracon changes name to better align with customer needs

Terracon has announced its first-ever refresh of brand visual assets and associated warranties to better reflect its alignment with current customer needs.

As a leading national consulting engineering firm comprised of engineers, scientists, architects, facilities experts and hands-on professionals who strive to bring big ideas to life for client partners, employees and the world, the Terracon brand now invites customers to “Explore with us.”

As an employee-owned company with a long history of excellence in consulting services, Terracon has continued to evolve to provide its customers with the best experience, quality down-to-sky solutions, on time. , from dedicated partners. The brand is focused on meeting clients where they are in their project journey, from the moment a site is selected, through design and construction, to maintaining the life of the structure. .

Key elements of Terracon’s new branding include:

• A modernized logo with a layered stratum representing a complete set of services from earth to sky;

• A new signature representing the desire to explore with customers to deliver quality innovative projects more quickly;

• A compelling corporate story told authentically through the experiences of our employee-owners;

• Website navigation and graphics, signage, advertising and other visual elements.

The refreshed Terracon brand was created during a year-long process to align the way the company meets customer needs, which began by identifying opportunities to better align Terracon’s strategic plan with the way whose company presents itself externally. More than 600 Terracon employee-owners at various levels participated in this deliberate and thoughtful process.

Since its founding in 1965 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as a geotechnical engineering firm, Terracon has grown into a thriving multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm with more than 175 locations across the United States. Terracon is employee-owned and has more than 5,000 employees providing environmental, facilities, geotechnical and materials services available in all 50 states.

In Arizona, Terracon has 130 total employees in offices in Tempe, Tucson and Avondale.

Recently, Terracon became the Salt River Project’s first commercial customer to contribute to the SRP. Healthy Forest Initiative™ (HFI), which aims to reduce wildfire risk and restore forested watersheds that supply water to about half of the valley. Terracon made a contribution of $10,000.

When COVID-19 forced Terracon to postpone its annual golf tournament to 2021, it matched the first $2,500 in donations and presented the tournament charity, Kids at Hope, with a check for $5,000. In 2019 when the golf tournament was held, Terracon raised $10,000 for Kids at Hope. The Valley organization focuses on youth ages 3-18 who empower groups to transform their cultures through workshops, seminars, and professional, personal, and volunteer development classes.

Terracon’s Tucson office is also giving back to the community, donating $10,000 from the Terracon Foundation to the University of Arizona College of Engineering. It also provides a $5,000 grant to the Southern Arizona Research, Science, and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF).
