EHL shareholders approve 15% cash dividend for 2020
Shareholders of Eastern Housing Limited (EHL) have approved a 15% cash dividend for fiscal year 2020 – 2021.
The approval came at the company’s 57th annual general meeting (AGM) held virtually on Wednesday, according to a press release.
Welcoming the declaration of a cash dividend of 15%, the shareholders also approved the accounts for the year ended June 30, 2021, the report of the directors and the auditors.
The company achieved net sales of Tk264 crore compared to Tk253 crore the previous year.
The company’s after-tax net profit amounted to Tk 37.29 crore for fiscal year 2020-2021.
EHL President Manzurul Islam chaired the AGM.
In his welcome speech, Manzurul Islam said that EHL maintains profitability in 2020-2021 due to its strong financial position, despite the downward trend in the global economy due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Expressing his deep gratitude, the Chairman said, “Shareholder confidence and support for the performance of the company over the years has helped to acquire the current position of the company.
EHL CEO Dhiraj Malakar discussed the company’s future business plan with shareholders.
He said: “The company has started construction works on two large projects in Mirpur and Uttara, Chalabon, Dhaka, comprising 87 and 283 apartments respectively.
Board Members Suraiya Islam, Abu Luthfe Fazle Rahim Khan, Abdur Rahim Choudhury, Md Abdul Wadud, Mostafizur Rahman, Independent Directors Md Rafiqul Islam and Kashem Humayun, General Secretary Salim Ahmed, FCS, Financial Director Md Asadul Islam FCA, FCS and shareholders attended the meeting.
