Chicago venture capital firm Energy Capital Ventures to invest in clean energy startups
The company is led by Managing Partner Victor Pascucci III, who was previously an investor at Lightbank, a Chicago-based venture capital firm started by Groupon founders Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell who invested in companies like Sprout Social and Udemy.
âThe opportunity to provide a platform to foster innovation and collaboration for our strategic partners who play such a critical role in our country’s energy transformation is truly incredible,â Pascucci said in a statement announcing the company.
Jeff Yingling and Ray O’Connor, who have long been investment bankers, head Energy Capital Ventures with Pascucci. In addition, Rick Viton, an insurance technology investor and partner in IA Capital Group based in New York, also joins the company.
At Lightbank, Pasucci has invested in companies such as Chicago insurance startup Clearcover and social media management firm Sprout Social, which went public in 2019.
Energy Capital Ventures’ board of directors includes CEO of P33 Chicago, Brad Henderson, and Chris Gould, executive vice president and chief sustainability officer of California Resources Corporation and former director of corporate strategy and innovation director at Exelon.
